What an incredibly special wedding day!! Oh, so much to share from Will & Aurora's incredibly intimate and sincere wedding celebration.
I first met Aurora when she was a tiny little toddler and it was so special to see her again. Aurora & Will's ceremony was at a family friend's house in Fairbanks. When I arrived, everyone was beautifully dressed and scurrying about doing all of the last minute, beautiful touches.
It was at least -20*F but everyone was in good spirits! Aurora hadn't been back to Alaska for more than a decade but she was embracing their incredible Alaskan wedding! This was my first time meeting Will and he was so kind and excited to be here. The two of them together are so sweet!
The ceremony was beautifully decorated and incredibly cozy. There were only a handful of closest friends and family in attendance. The whole affair had the most personal touches. A special glass for William's toast. Cake layers in the bride's favorite flavors as well as a cake with layers in the groom's favorite flavors. Special confetti streamers sat on each chair ready for attendees to toss them in the air on the correct count of 8, courtesy of the dancers in the room.
The ceremony began with a super fun song for the groom to walk down the aisle to, then transitioned to more classical music as family walked to their positions. Family friends served as the officiant, the ring bearer and the flower girl. Aurora shone brightly as her dad escorted her, and her mom proudly beamed towards their precious girl.
During the ceremony, the couple had beautiful sentiments shared about their love. "Will said that her soul spoke to his soul. She was absolutely gorgeous, soft spoken and peaceful. As he got to know her, he fell in love with her willingness to help everyone around her and the fact that she was so comfortable with herself just the way he was. Aurora's upbringing surrounding by a loving family and close friends was like a lighthouse beacon on a stormy night. He was able to see a future that he wanted... " "Aurora was asked what made her know Will was the one, she said he was easy to talk to, funny and really cute. From the very first day she met him, Will spoiled her rotten. She felt like the most important person in his life. Not only does she feel confident Will can take care of her financially, she also enjoys knowing he is there for her emotionally and loves knowing she can rely on him being there whenever she needs him..."
A really beautiful element to the day was the ring warming ceremony that the group held. The ring bearer passed the rings to each person in attendance, and when it was that family member's turn to hold the rings, they said a small silent prayer or blessing for the couple. Each person in the room participated and it was really so touching.
After the big "I do!" the room filled with celebrations! We took photos, had cake and made toasts, and later headed to a local restaurant for a reception dinner. This was truly one of the most special weddings I've attended. I'm so grateful to get to know this couple!
