Looking for an idea for your church to gift moms on Mother's Day? Here's our favorite! Mother's Day photo magnets!
For years at Mother's Day, our church would hand out little bookmarks or notebooks or other little trinkets. They were thoughtful, but I knew I could make the gift a little more personal!
We've done this for several years now, and it's always a hit!! The first year was a little confusing to see a photo shoot set up when several of the teenagers declared themselves "not photo ready" but it's been tradition long enough that they know Mother's Day is a Sunday to be ready for their moment in the spotlight!
We set up a really simple photo booth in the entryway of our church and snap photos as families come in. We take a picture of the mama with all of her kids - or at least all of the kids that were at church on that day! It is so fun to watch families grow from year to year, and having this yearly photo it's obvious how much the kiddos change each year! There's one boy in particular that comes to mind that starts shorter than his mom the first year we did this and then grows and grows until his head reaches the top of our backdrop!
A little while after we've taken everyone's images, we make sure to get them their best digital image of the day. BUT we also take that image and order a photo magnet for their fridge with "Mother's Day 2024" or whichever year on it. Typically, we wait for a sale and are able to get the magnets for around $2 each, so it isn't really any more expensive than the items we were getting in the past!
