Levi & MacKinzy's Winter Engagement Session

With Levi & MacKinzy's wedding day fast approaching, I had the honor of capturing their engagement photos! We lucked out with a late spring snow that made these images cozy and beautiful!

Can you even believe how gorgeous MacKinzy & Levi's photo day was for them? Just a week prior it had been kind of brown and muddy and gross out, and although I was not a fan of the mid-April snowfall, it sure paid off for us in photos! It was warm-ish, sunny, and fresh snow really brought the images all together!

MacKinzy is my sister-in-law and a benefit of growing up in a small town is that I have known her since she was a baby!! I have got to walk alongside her in so many beautiful seasons and am so excited as she begins this newest chapter of her life with her husband-to-be, Levi.

Last October, I was on a getaway trip with my hubby and MacKinzy texted me. "I may have found a real amazing, God loving guy." I responded "In the four days I was gone?!?!" to which she laughed at. She raved about how much he loved Jesus, the conversations they had about the Lord, how easy he was to talk to and how he was even cuter in person. (My girls insist that their soon-to-be Uncle Levi is just too too too too too handsome.) I am so excited that Levi is joining our family! He is kind and hardworking and everything that MacKinzy needs plus more. Plus, he's getting an incredible woman in MacKinzy.

On a Saturday afternoon in April, we headed out for engagement sessions as wedding planning is in full swing! First we went to my favorite snowy trail, which was beautiful albeit a little muddy. Then, we headed out to Dragonfly Creek near Denali National Park! Our plan was to try to hike down and round to the base of the waterfall, but the trail was not well maintained. There were other hikers before us that were actually ice climbing the waterfall! We were actually standing on the ice for these photos and kept our distance from the edge of the cliff!

The weather was on our side for the whole day! Next, we headed to where they are hopeful to have their wedding ceremony. The skies were not as blue there, but the snow was perfect and I am so hopeful to recreate some of their wedding pictures there this summer. We laughed together so much and had a grand old time. PLUS, just look at how these two are so radiantly in love. Happiness abounds!!

The love these two share is so precious and I'll be their number one fan cheering them on for the rest of their lives.
