The light was gorgeous and the wind was insane but we still made the most of it and had the best time while doing it!!
I attend church with the Kimmel family and we had tried several times in the past to schedule a session, and today was the day we made it happen!! I was quite nervous about the wind - there was a wind advisory for the day - but due to scheduling conflicts we decided to just push through and I'm so glad we did! If anything, the wind added to our fun.
Sam and Chris are two of the founders of Last Frontier Ministries, an incredible organization that is reaching the villages of Alaska! "Last Frontier Ministries is a 501c3 nonprofit Christian organization. We are a para church organization, which means that we partner with different Christian church and denominations to get a common goal done, and that is to reach the people of Alaska with the gospel of Jesus Christ..." We have loved getting to watch what the Lord is doing through the ministry!
But, back to the Kimmel Family and their session together!! We had the most fun together! I love getting to photograph each combination of family - siblings together, mom and dad, each parent with each kid. Even though these kids are bigger kids - nearly all teenagers!!! - they were such good sports about all of the photos we were taking. You might recognize one of the "kids" - Miranda - who is now graduated! I had the pleasure of taking her senior photos last year in the wildflowers.
At the location we were shooting at, there were several ATV tours that passed by and we had to step off into the trees out of the way and wave as they passed. We laughed as we hid from the dust and waved like a random sideshow on their tour.
I'm so grateful to have gotten to take these photos for the Kimmel fam and for the delightful evening we got to spend together. I hope you enjoy as much as I did!!
