Kayla's senior session in fireweed flower fields around Healy was a hoot! Fireweed + midnight sun + family to make you laugh + a gorgeous senior was the recipe for a great night!
Kayla's senior session was an unexpected girls night out!
Her mom Danielle and sister Breanna joined my mom & I for a delightfully fun evening. We all piled in my mom Tina's car and headed out to find some flowers for Kayla's fireweed senior session. It ended up being an incredibly fun girls night with lots of laughs and a surprising amount of conversation about babies being born in cars.
We started our session in the flower fields near Stampede Road, but with wind and rain that had recently passed through the area, we quickly realized that the flowers were not what they were just a few weeks prior! Without missing a beat, Kayla still rocked this location. Some of the trees on the path had really grown, so with the help of Kayla's sister hiding in the bushes, we were still able to capture some beautiful photos - along with some genuine laughs from our girl!
Next, Kayla's family had come across a gorgeous spot of fireweed next to a creek so we headed off! Unfortunately, when we got there, those flowers too had died... Not a problem, Kayla bravely ventured into the cold water at this gorgeous location. Her poor little toes were freezing after we were done here, but our hearts were warm from all of the laughing - you should see some of the outtakes from our fun here! BUT since we still hadn't gotten the fireweed photos we were hoping for, we headed off to one last secret spot where my favorite images from the evening were captured.
Among Kayla's passions are volleyball and basketball, both of which she represented here in our photos. It was quickly brought to mind that she completely forgot to bring her track shoes, which she will have to do at a future date! Because not only does Kayla excel on the basketball court and volleyball court, Kayla is literally a state track star.
I am so glad that we went to several locations in order to find this gorgeous fireweed, but mostly I keep thinking - KAYLA! Your hair!!! It's SO gorgeous!!!
Kayla, you are so beautiful, talented, and a bundle of joy. You have a passion for life and living it to the fullest! I loved hearing about your recent trip to EUROPE playing basketball. I am cheering you on this year and beyond!!
