This sweet fireweed family photo session will forever be one of my favorites!

I have taken this sweet family's photos for several years in a row and I adore them each time! This time, our goal was to take photos in the Alaskan fireweed as they live out of state and it's a real treat to be here this time of year! We took photos on a HOT July day, well.. hot for being in Healy! It was 81*F at 9:37 pm! The kids were troopers as we tried to keep cool during our time together.

Desh and Kathryn are the founders of Flashpoint Missions, an incredible organization that has partnered with our church for the last few summers. Their goal is to "empower and support existing mission organizations by providing committed assistance throughout necessary construction projects." Flashpoint Missions has been working with another local mission organization, Last Frontier Ministries to build a campus for YWAM Denali. They've been hard at work constructing that campus, and YWAM Denali will open in 2024! We are so eager to see what the Lord will do!!

But, back to the Esh Family and their session together in the fireweed! We had the most fun together! I love getting to capture all of the kids playing together, but some of my favorite photos are one-on-one of each parent with each kid! These kiddos are so special to me and positively crack me up. Their little personalities just shine through in their individual photographs.

No session is complete without a few photos of just Mom and Dad together. We enlisted the help of the kiddos to help "fluff" Kathryn's dress, and while the "fluffing" maybe didn't work, it sure made everyone laugh so genuinely.

I brought along one of my kiddo's play cameras - that takes real photos! - and it was a HIT with each kiddo during this session! It kept them busy while we were working AND now there's some fun behind the scene images from their perspective too. I'm thinking this camera needs to come with me to every photo session!
