Today, I'm excited to showcase some stunning images from my sister-in-law Elle's fall maternity shoot!!
I am so thrilled to finally get this beautiful fall maternity session on the blog!! There are just SO many photos I loved from this session, so let us dive in!
We live near Denali National Park and we were hoping to take these photos at a nearby waterfall. Unfortunately, I got really sick the week before we did these pictures and the waterfall option was out! Thankfully, we still found several really beautiful spots to take some photos of this special season in Elle's life!
Elle is my sister-in-law and I've had the incredible honor of taking photos of each of her pregnancies. This, her third & last, was held so dear to her heart.
We started at a local river and laughed as we yelled "HEY BEAR" as we walked toward the river. Thankfully, we were the only ones we saw on the trail! While we couldn't get to the waterfall, this water turned out beautiful and even though we took photos later than intended, the fall colors were GORGEOUS!!
From the river, we headed to one of my favorite mountain spots. It was a little chilly but Elle was a trooper and we had a great time! We quickly realized that we should have brought a third person to "throw" her dress and planned to take photos another day with a little extra help. In the meantime, we propped up my camera on a rock and I threw the dress a few times, hoping that one of the stills from the video would work out. It didn't work like I had hoped, but now we have a fun video for baby! And can you even get over the fall colors?! I went back to this same spot a week later and was SHOCKED at how quickly it had changed - we had timed it perfectly.
A few days later, before the leaves fell, we recruited my daughter to do the dress tossing! We laughed the whole way through, and while I had to edit her out of many of the photos, it really worked out! Even with the gorgeous fall light, Elle still glowed more than the sun through the trees.
A few months after these photos, I was overjoyed to be in the room when baby made her arrival. Elle is so strong, and beautiful and I am grateful to do this motherhood journey alongside her.
