Arbuckle Family

This fall family session outside of Denali National Park was such a joy and treasure!

Y'all, this was such a special family session! Sam and Jesse have the most beautiful family and I was so honored to photograph them!! I attended high school with both Sam and Jesse and we have kiddos along the same ages! This is one of my very favorite spots to take family photos, and it sure was magical with them!

Can we take a minute to appreciate how beautiful their outfits are?! Sam did such a great job picking out outfits. I texted her a few pointers - like coordinating is usually better than matching, choose colors in the same family, have a mixture between solids and prints. And, my favorite tip of all, start with an outfit that MOM loves! Usually - especially if there are little girls in the family - it is tempting to start with the cutest littlest dress, and I always encourage moms to start with an outfit they love and build their family outfits around it! Sam just knocked it out of the park with these. I am so impressed.

Sam and Jesse have two adorable little kiddos, and one precious one in Heaven, and I loved getting to chase the kiddos around just being themselves. There was lots of finding rocks and sticks and stomping on leaves and it was a great time! We just leaned into it and by the end of the session were having full on sword fights with the sticks. It's just a season that the kiddos are in and before we know it they won't be in this season anymore. So embrace it while it's here!

We took a minute to take a few photos of just mom and dad and the kids were even entertaining us then! Including a moment that I didn't see right away where sweet little B was sticking a stick up her mom's dress and Sam did her best to smile through it. We seriously laughed so much!

Sam and Jesse, I love your family. I am so proud of you guys!
